Hardwood Custom Framing
We offer the finest quality hardwood frames in a wide assortment of shapes and finishes, including maple, ash, cherry, walnut, opaque white and ebonized walnut. Acid-Free Mounting & Framing
Materials that have typically been used in the framing process are made from paper (wood pulp). These items contain a large degree of acid that will transfer (creep) into other materials causing discoloration, and other damage to potentially valuable items. Recent advances in technology have made available and affordable to the average consumer some products & techniques historically used by museums and reserved for preserving the most valuable art. Mats made from 100% cotton and mounting boards with pollutant scavengers built in are a few. Using these types of materials can preserve items for decades with little or no discernable damage to your work.
Glass can make or break preservation
Ultra-violet light is one of the most dangerous elements that your artwork can encounter. It will not only cause colors to fade, but will cause the materials themselves to begin to break down. Conservation glass is specially formulated to protect framed works from 97% of the damaging effects of ultra-violet light. Our custom framing process takes into consideration all aspects of preserving life's treasures.
