There is nothing quite like the look of real hand finishing, whether it be on a picture frame or an article of furniture. It is the only way to get that specific color just right, or to add a hand painted motif or design.

At E.Greene we use centuries old traditional materials and methods in our frame finishing. Water based casein paints, genuine earth pigments, shellac finishes and waxes, japan, and 22K gold leaf are used exclusively to obtain the rich patina only hand rubbing can achieve. (They are also much more environmentally friendly than the spray laquers used by commercial frame makers).

Because we do the finishing in-house, our prices are lower than comparable closed corner frames and competitive with mid-higher end commercial mouldings.
